Biobriket adalah bahan padat terbuat dari campuran-campuran biomassa, bahan bakar padat merupakan bahan alternatif yang dikembangkan secara masal dalam waktu yang relatif singkat dan relatif lebih murah (Harimurti, 2015). Briket bioarang adalah salah satu inovasi energi alternatif  yang berasal dari kayu. Bahan dasarnya dapat diambil dari serasah dan daun-daun kering lainnya.Melalui buku ini Penulis memperkenalkan alternatif pembuatan biobriket dengan memanfaatkan tanaman durian (Durio zibethinus Murr) yang merupakan salah satu jenis buah-buahan yang produksinya melimpah. Bagian buah durian yang dapat dimakan (persentase bobot daging buah) tergolong rendah yaitu hanya 20,52%. Hal ini berarti ada sekitar 79,08% yang merupakan bagian yang tidak termanfaatkan untuk dikonsumsi seperti kulit dan bijinya. Khusus untuk kulit duriannya tersebut Penulis gunakan sebagai bahan baku bagi pembuatan biobriket sebagai pengganti arang konvensional.
